UAE Hackathon Objective

Based on the UAE Centennial 2071, UAE Hackathon aims to explore the adaptable advanced solution and the innovative projects to face the rapid evolving change in the tools of emerging technologies, such as; Internet of Things, Big Data & Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Metaverse, Intelligent Chatbot, Augmented Reality, 3D/4D Printings, and other trending technologies. It also aims to employ open data that exist within and among government entities to develop solutions that contribute to further community development by the participation of all its segments.

Who can participate in the Hackathon?

Anyone residing in the UAE and having a valid Emirates ID can participate at the Hackathon. Registration is open for all the UAE citizens from students, makers, employees, entrepreneurs, creators, and any citizen has the ability to innovate and develop creative flexible ideas to design the UAE’s future for the next generations. There are four tracks to partake in: the school students track, the university students, the entrepreneurs, experts, and employees track, and the researchers track.

Accelerating Emiratisation

UAE aims to increase the integration of Emirati citizens into the labor market and provide the necessary mentorship and vocational training programs to boost their participation in the country’s strategic sectors, as well as, enhance the workforce productivity towards building a better future and more sustainable life.

Developing the Educational System, Vision, Indicators and Outputs

UAE aims at investment in technological education through providing students with the 21st century’s skills to overcome the world's rapid changes along with developing the education system and establishing innovation labs in universities and schools to support the inventions. All with the aim to make the UAE the world’s best country by the next centennial in 2071.

Environment and Sustainability

The UAE is ranked among the countries most vulnerable to the potential impacts of climate change in the world, and as it plays a central role in the world's energy economy, it seeks solutions to reduce emissions, while continuing to provide the world with the energy it needs. The UAE Government aims to ensure sustainable development while preserving the environment and to achieve a perfect balance between technological, economic, and social development.

Establishing and Consolidating the National Identity

The national identity is a system of social and moral values associated with people’s lifestyle, which can be achieved by strengthening the fundamental concepts of citizenship, work, & productive initiatives.

Expanding the UAE’s International Economic Partnerships

The transition to a digital economy can boost competitiveness across all sectors, new opportunities for business and entrepreneurial activity, and new avenues to access global markets, as well as expanding international economic partnerships as one of the government’s priorities in 2023. Through investment in digital transformation, businesses can lay the foundation for long-term resilience to future crises.

We the UAE 2031 “We the UAE 2031” vision represents a national plan through which the UAE will continue its development path for the next 10 years, with focus on social, economic, investment and development aspects. The plan seeks to enhance the position of the UAE as a global partner and an attractive and influential economic hub. It aims to highlight the successful economic model of the UAE and the opportunities it provides to all global partners.

UAE Centennial 2071

The 6th edition of the UAE Hackathon opens the doors for citizens, students, experts, and entrepreneurs to contribute in designing the UAE’s future for the next generations, in alignment with the vision of the UAE Centennial 2071 which was launched by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aiming to invest in the future generations, by preparing them with the skills and knowledge needed to face rapid changes and to make the UAE the best country in the world by the next centennial in 2071.

After Support and Incubation Program

This year, a distinctive version of the UAE Hackathon is coming to you! The Winner's announcement is not the end of your journey. Rather, the winners will be eligible for the opportunity to get an integrated incubation and technical support program from March till October, which is presented by innovation, business, and entrepreneurship experts. By the end of the incubation and technical support phase, the qualified teams will get the chance to present their professional projects at GITEX, the global tech show.

Research Trackers

Working to achieve the UAE mission towards preparing a generation of innovators, this year we launched a new track targeting the early career researchers as well as senior ones who are working on interdisciplinary applied research which must be affiliated with and funded by a university in UAE .
