Evaluation Criteria of The UAE Hackathon

Each track will have a different judging panel appropriate to the nature of the track participants, their qualifications and the level of expected results.
Projects will be evaluated according to 5 elements, which identify the best innovative idea that can be transformed into a start-up project.

  1. 15% Data Utilization & Data for Happiness
  2. 15% Solution Quality & Usability (UX/UI)
  3. 20% Innovation and Creativity
  4. 20% Technology Usage & Maturity
  5. 30% Benefits & Impact
The outcomes from each track were also defined as follows:

School Students Track

The primary outcome is to come up with refined ideas as a mock-up to communicate these ideas by presenting and demonstrating them ahead of the Judging Panel. We do not need to have a low or high-fidelity prototype at this stage with school students.

University Students Track

The primary outcome is to come up with advanced solutions and communicate them by presenting and demonstrating them ahead of the Judging Panel. We expect students to have a low-fidelity prototype.

Experts & Entrepreneurs (Start-ups) Track

The primary outcome is to find advanced solutions and communicate these solutions by presenting and demonstrating them in the Track Demo Day, as we expect participants to have a high-fidelity prototype. This helps participants build or grow their own strong start-ups through finding investments and new resources.
